UTS UTS

August 30, 2024

WELCOME TO THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR!

Welcome to our new staff, welcome back to returning staff, and thank you to the administrative, facilities, operational and security staff who worked this summer to prepare UTS for the year!

Professional Development Sessions

We are looking forward to learning together on our upcoming PD days - Tuesday, September 3 and Wednesday, September 4 (p.m.)

Please see agenda here for location, time, and focus areas. A copy is also available on the Staff Google Calendar.

School Schedules for 2024-2025

Here is a link to the information sent to teacher inboxes for the 2024-2025 year.

New Student Orientation - September 4

We will welcome our new F1s, M3s, M5s, and S5s the morning before our staff meeting. F1s will be in one orientation group, with the higher grades in a separate one. Please see your inbox for details.

F1 Onboarding - September 5 - 6

In addition to the onboarding activities F1 teachers will be engaging their students in to set them up for success for the school year, we have organized a schedule of visits from members of our Academic Leadership team to your classrooms for brief introductions and learning about the various human resources available to students at our school. Most of these visits will be short (15-30 minutes), except the visit from our new Head of Middle School, Royan Lee, who will be engaging students in a full period of facilitated learning on the Code of Conduct.

Safe Schools Assemblies - September 6

The Middle School (F1, F2, M3) assembly takes place from 10:40 - 11:10 a.m.

Senior School (M4, S5, S6) assembly follows from 11:55 a.m. - 12:25 p.m.

Please bring your classes to the auditorium and sit with them.

Guest Speakers and Volunteers

Advancement is available to assist staff with the selection of alumni or parent guest speakers and volunteers. We also have a wide variety of gifts for the speakers/volunteers at the UTS Shop. Browse the offerings and fill out a transfer form including your department budget number. The form is available from David Haisell and will be uploaded to the forms section on the staff portal soon. (Gift wrapping and cards are available as well!)

Silver Linings

To mark the end of summer and the start of a successful school year, a friendly (and at times, competitive) bowling matchup took place!

A rematch is rumoured to be in the works!
