Pathways of Support

The Social Work team, in collaboration with the Student Success team, has finalized a Pathways of Support document that helps to clarify roles within the school and direct students to the appropriate line of support.

This has been posted around the school on bulletin boards, as well as the main office, student services, and social work offices. F

Feel free to share this with students as needed, or print (legal size) and post if you wish. Click below to access.

Mental Health Week

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) has designated May 2-8 as Mental Health week.

This year’s theme is empathy and the tagline is “Before you weigh in, tune in.”

The CMHA has released a toolkit of materials as well as information and articles to support conversations about empathy.

Posters will be placed around the school to support these messages.

Click here to access the toolkit.

Congrats to UTS’ very own Virginia Ki, for placing first in her age and weight category at the Ontario Masters Weightlifting Championship.

Here’s her ‘Clean and Jerk’ @ 77kg.

Silver Lining

Every week, we will close the Staff Update with a little silver lining that highlights the lighter side of life. So far the theme has been pet photos, but any cheerful content is welcome!

Submit Silver Linings here or in the Staff Updates Google Doc.
