UTS Policy and Guidelines for Alternate Work Arrangements

The last few years has seen a shift to more flexible alternative work arrangements across all employee groups.  Alternative Work Arrangements are generally meant to accommodate special circumstances which come up from time to time.  With the move back to 371 Bloor and the resumption of on-site school operations, the issue of creating guidelines for Alternative Work Arrangements that can be applied equitably across all employee groups is timely.  We are committed to providing operationally supported, wellness-driven work arrangements, and maintaining transparency regarding guidelines for formalizing requests and opportunities for staff to participate in Alternative Work Arrangements.

We recognize that not all roles may be fully or partially conducive to alternative work arrangements. But in considering all cases, UTS will continue to prioritize student learning and support throughout the year without disruption to School operations. This will remain at the forefront of decisions pertaining to Alternative Work Arrangements.

Starting June 1, 2022, we will begin formalizing requests for Alternative Work Arrangements following the guidelines outlined in the UTS Policy and Guidelines for Alternative Work Arrangements. Please take the time to read it. Should you have any questions around procedures, please contact Lily McGregor at lilymcgregor@utschools.ca.

Design Box

Have a student who has finished their work and needs something to do? Send them down to the Lang Innovation Lab to borrow a Design Box!

Filled with a variety of material to occupy an idle child, these boxes are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Please ensure all boxes are returned to the Lang Innovation Lab at the end of class.
