Wise Words and Big Ideas

Vince Dannetta shared this insightful podcast for this week’s Wise Words and Big Ideas:

Revisionist History: Unlocking Hidden Potential with Adam Grant

Malcolm Gladwell hosts a rollicking live discussion about Adam Grant’s new book, “Hidden Potential: The Science of Achieving Greater Things,” which is available now. They explore why we overemphasize innate talent, how Adam grappled with impostor syndrome as a writer and perfectionism as an athlete, and how to chart a path toward achieving greater things. They also discuss the evidence on affirmative action — and riff on topics ranging from humility to psychoanalysis to whether Lions or Bills fans suffer more.

Borrowing Whiteboards on Wheels (Lang Innovation Lab, Room 137, Room 235)

Teachers who teach in Rooms 137 and 235 are part of the Collaborative Active Learning Classroom project, in which they are using vertical collaborative spaces with their students.

Room 137 currently has 4 rolling whiteboards.  Room 235 currently has 2 rolling whiteboards and 1 interactive digital screen.

To ensure that teachers and students in the Lang Innovation Lab, Room 137, and Room 235 have reliable access to their rolling whiteboards for intentionally designed collaborative learning activities, we ask that anyone who needs to borrow a rolling whiteboard(s) to please follow this process:

  1. 2 whiteboards in the I-Lab available to borrow for special events - please consult Nat about whiteboard availability for the event date/time.  Kindly return the board(s) when the event ends.

  2. If the I-Lab whiteboards are not available, please consult Cresencia about borrowing a whiteboard from Room 137 or 235 for an event that is outside of class time.  When the event ends, kindly return the board(s) to the classroom it came from.

Thanks for your consideration!
