March Break Upgrades

We are adding a bit of colour to some stairwells and doorways over the March Break! We will be starting on the 3rd floor and in Stairwells A and B on March 11. Notices will be posted when each stairwell is closed. Floors L1 - 2 will be completed the week of March 18. Low VOC latex paint will be used. Fans will be set up, if needed, to alleviate any odour. The Facilities team will reach out to operational staff onsite over the break to let you know when your office doorway will be painted.

Late Start Changes

In order to accommodate a special guest speaker on two upcoming dates, we have shifted two late starts as follows:

April 24 moved to April 25

May 15 moved to May 16

Calendars will be updated shortly.

UTS Athletics Update

Alpine Sports Success

This year’s alpine sports team competed in the TDCAA championship with two teams finishing with gold (Boys “High School Trained” and Boys “Club Trained) as well as one individual gold medal for a female athlete, Amy S. Charlie B. and Andrew K. also won gold medals. The two teams and Amy traveled to OFSAA in Collingwood last week where competition was tight. Amy S. finished 17th in both the Slalom and Giant Slalom events.

In snowboard, Shinena X qualified and competed at OFSAA.

Indoor Girls Soccer Success

This year UTS fielded two indoor girls soccer teams (Tier 1 and Tier 2). The less experienced tier 2 team got better with each game played but missed the playoffs. The tier 1 team competed in a very challenging division dominated by the AAA schools (ie large schools) finishing the season in 4th position. The team advanced out of pool play in the playoff tournament, losing a heartbreaker 2-1 on a late goal to the eventual league winner, Michael Power, and won the bronze medal 5-3 against a feisty team from Lorretto Abbey. The outdoor season will start right after the March Break.

Mindful Munch Lunch Menu

UTS is also offering a hot lunch menu through Mindful Munch, which is brought to you by Basil Box and staff are welcome to order.

Please place your order for March here.
